Redecorating finished

Writer's picture: KateKate

The last few months have been very busy and incredibly hard work but I have finally finished redecorating the interior at Zymologists. I have rewired, repainted and rearranged a lot of things to, hopefully, create a space that will be both great for baking and enjoying bread, for me and my customers.

I hope that the new decor makes people feel relaxed and comfortable, with a lot of natural tones of green, silver and raw wood, and many plant and flower features to contrast the industrial furniture.

There are tables for 4, a long high counter bar and sofas and low table to sit at. So whether you come in just to grab a quick coffee, or to sit for a long spell and eat slow, there should be somewhere that suits you.

The windows at the bakery are large, and I have added some logos to help identify the store to people outside without preventing the daylight from getting in, to give a bright and airy feel to sit in during the day.

The lighting in the seating area continues the vintage, industrial theme, with the bulbs giving a warm glow that I think will make the space feel cosy and inviting in the evenings, or dark winter mornings.

I have put a lot of time and attention to detail into picking the all the decorative aspects, both big and small, to ensure that they coordinate and give a consistent, professional feel, that also gives a great atmosphere. Items have been chosen with simple, clean lines and a sense of quality.

Art has been chosen to reflect the local area, because it is important for me that Zymologists becomes part of the Sale community.

And finally there are a few touches of my personality to show a bit more of the human side, as after all I will be spending a lot time there and it needs to feel like it reflects me!

So many friends have helped me in the last few weeks, with cleaning, repairs and carpentry, and I couldn’t have done it without them, so I have to say a huge thank you to you all.

I can’t wait for the public health situation to improve such that people can actual sit in and enjoy the space, but until then take look at the photos and stay safe everyone.
