As many people are concerned about the risk of CoronaVirus, COV-19, I want to reassure customers and clarify the actions taken at Zymologists to ensure high levels of food hygiene and reduce the risk of contracting this infection:

  • •The seating and bathroom areas are currently out of service to customers.

Privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for Zymologists Ltd, which includes Zymologists Sourdough Bakery and the website www.zymologistsmcr.com, known hereafter as “Zymologists”.

 

This policy will explain how our organisation stores the personal data we collect from you and what it is used for.

The Zymologists website is hosted and provided by Wix and email marketing campaigns are maintained via their Ascend marketing suite. Their privacy policy is available online.

The Zymologists till system is provided by Take Payments and Epos Now. Their privacy policies can also be found on their websites.

In store Zymologists uses a credit/debit card solution from Take Payments and Optomany. Their privacy policies can also be found on their websites and you can contact them for details of how they keep payment secure and use your information.

What data do we collect?

Zymologists collects the following data:

  • Personal Identification Information; name, email address, phone number etc.

  • Details of allergies or dietary preference you may provide

  • Social media account identifiers such as username, screen name, “handles” etc.

  • Information volunteered by yourself via a “Contact Form”

  • Information required for NHS COVID-19 Track and Trace: Name, contact information, date and time of visit, the number in your party

Zymologists will NEVER:

  • Write down, or electronically store, your credit or debit card details, other than in the anonymous and partial form as printed on merchant receipts.

  • Provide your data to a third party for profit.

How we collect your data:

You directly provide Zymologists with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

  • Place an order or make a reservation: online, via social media, in store or over the phone.

  • Join our mailing list via the website (you can unsubscribe at any time)

  • Use or view our website, via your browser’s cookies

  • You complete any surveys, feedback or query forms, competitions etc. via the Zymologists website or social media comments/polls.

  • Information required for NHS COVID-19 Track and Trace: from you directly when you choose to provide information on a visit. You are entitled to refuse to give this information however it may prevent us from being able to serve you in store. By giving us your data for the purposes for NHS Track and Trace you are also granting your consent for this data to be shared with the NHS Track and Trace team in the event that they contact Zymologists to request it.

Zymologists may also receive your data indirectly from your interactions with social media or data providers such as Google, Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc.

How we will use your data?

Zymologists uses your data to enable us to complete orders and reservations for our goods and services. This may include contacting you with the details provided as necessary.

By signing up to the mailing list, you are allowing Zymologists to contact you for marketing purposes such as to inform you of events, products, deals etc. You can unsubscribe at any time.

NHS COVID-19 Track and Trace information will be collected and stored, and only in the event of being requested by the NHS following contact with a suspected infected person within the store, will your data be accessed or shared with the NHS Track and Trace team.
This data will not be used for any other purposes, such as marketing. By giving us your data for the purposes for NHS Track and Trace you are also granting your consent for this data to be shared with the NHS Track and Trace team in the event that they contact Zymologists to request it.

 

How do we store your data?

Zymologists stores your data both electronically and in hard copy.

Order and Reservation data is stored electronically, this data will be stored on the Zymologists till system provided by Epos Now – this is a secure cloud system and is compliant with the requirements of GDPR. Order/Reservation data will be deleted 14 days after an order collection date.

​

As a back-up system (e.g. in the event of a temporary computer failure) hard copy data is taken for order/reservation purposes only, and is kept in non-customer area of the store. This data will be transferred into the electronic system as soon as possible once it has been restored. These will include your name, contact details (if given) and details of your order requests. These will be destroyed within 14 days of your order collection date. They will be destroyed by shredding to prevent your contact details being acquired by a third party.

NHS COVID-19 Track and Trace information will be electronically stored securely in cloud storage for 21 days as required by government guidance, on the Epos Now till system. It will be deleted following this period.  

   

What are your data protection rights?

 The Right to Access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data that we hold. You may request in person, by phone, by email or by post.

The Right to Rectification – You have the right to request that we correct, or complete, any information we hold that you believe is inaccurate

​

The Right to Erasure – You have the right to request that we erase/destroy any personal data we hold. You may request in person, by phone, by email or by post. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list using the link at the bottom of all email communications.

The Right to Restrict Processing – You have the right to request that Zymologists restricts the processing of your data.

​

The Right to Object to Processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your data.

​

The Right to Data Portability – You have the right to request that Zymologists transfers your data to a third party, or directly to you. Zymologists will never transfer your data to a third party for profit.
